Who this covers

This policy applies to pestcontrolarmy.com.au and to Pest Control Army as a pest management business operating in Melbourne, Victoria. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Only what we need to quote and carry out the work:

• Through the quote form: your name, postcode, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us about the pest problem.
• When you call or email: your contact details and the details of your enquiry.
• When we attend: the service address, what we found, what we treated and any warranty details. For commercial clients this includes the service records your auditor requires.
• Automatically: standard web server information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security and to keep the site working.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card details through this website.

Why we collect it

• To call you back and give you a quote.
• To schedule and carry out the work, and to honour warranties.
• To keep treatment records, which we are required to maintain as a licensed pest business, and to provide documentation to commercial clients for audits.
• To respond to questions, complaints and follow-ups.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. It is disclosed only to:

• Our technicians, so they can attend your job.
• Our hosting and form providers, who process the data on our behalf in order to run the website and deliver form submissions.
• A beekeeper, where you have asked us to relocate a bee colony and the job is referred on.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose it.

How long we keep it

Quote enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to two years. Treatment records are kept longer, because warranty periods and licensing obligations require it – generally seven years. You can ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiry data is limited to people who need it to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise – but we do not store payment details, and we keep what we hold to the minimum.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy issue, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
